Meet the Founders

Creating Maternally Melanated was more than a business decision - it was a calling. A call to create a space where women of color feel seen, supported, and deeply cared for throughout pregnancy and postpartum. Together, we are building a village rooted in intention, wellness, and culture.

Jacquelyn Wright - Co-Founder

Jacquelyn is a mother, educator, and advocate dedicated to supporting women of color throughout their motherhood journey. Her personal experience navigating pregnancy and parenting fuels her passion for creating spaces where mamas feel informed, supported, and genuinely cared for.

With a background in education, Jacquelyn brings a nurturing, grounded presence and a deep understanding of how guidance and knowledge empower families. Her thoughtful approach helps shape the mindfulness, emotional wellness, and supportive elements woven into every Maternally Melanated offering.

Through her lived experience and commitment to community, Jacquelyn inspires mamas to embrace their journeys with confidence, softness, and grace.

Tierney Guevares - Co-Founder

Tierney is a mother, visionary, and advocate for culturally-centered maternal wellness. Inspired by her own motherhood journey, she saw a gap in the support offered to women of color during pregnancy and postpartum - not just in products, but in emotional, mental, and spiritual care.

With a background in business analysis and a heart for community building, Tierney brings strategy, creativity, and compassion to the development of each curated box and wellness tool. Her mission is to ensure every mama feels prepared, empowered, and cared for in every trimester and beyond.

Together, We Are Maternally Melanated

United by lived experiences, shared purpose, and a deep love for our community, we've created a brand that speaks to the specific needs, beauty, and brilliance of melanated mamas. Our goal is simple: to curate resources that nurture the mind, body, and spirit - and to remind every mother that she deserves intentional, culturally-rooted care every step of the way.

This is more than a subscription box. It's a movement, a village, a soft landing place for mothers of color everywhere.

With love,

Jacquelyn & Tierney
