What is Maternally Melanated? Maternally Melanated is a curated subscription box designed to honor, support, and celebrate the pregnancy and postpartum journeys of women of color. Each box blends wellness, comfort, education, culture, and community — because motherhood deserves softness and intentional care.
How does the subscription work? Choose your journey, subscribe, and receive a monthly box aligned with your pregnancy or postpartum stage. Cancel, pause, or update anytime before your next billing date.
Who is behind the brand? Maternally Melanated is founded by two Black women, Tierney and Jacquelyn — mothers, nurturers, and advocates for culturally centered maternal wellness.
What types of products are included? Each box may include:

Wellness tools, affirmations & mental health support
Lifestyle gifts, comfort items & pampering products
Educational resources and printables
Are products full-sized or sample-sized? We primarily include full-size products to ensure lasting use and value — occasionally we feature trial and sample items when partnering with brands.
Do I have to be pregnant to subscribe? No — we offer postpartum boxes as well. We support mothers from Month 2 of pregnancy through Month 6 postpartum.
Is this only for Black women? While we intentionally center the experiences of women of color, all mothers who feel aligned with our mission are welcome here.
When will I be billed? Your subscription renews monthly on the same date you first subscribed.
Can I cancel anytime? Yes — cancel before your next billing date to avoid being charged for the upcoming box.
Can I pause my subscription? Absolutely. Motherhood shifts — and we honor that. You can pause within your account dashboard.
Where do you ship? Currently within the U.S. — international shipping will be announced soon.
When will my box ship? Boxes ship monthly, typically within the first or third week of the month. You’ll receive tracking once shipped.
How long does delivery take? Most boxes arrive within 3–7 business days after shipping.
Can I personalize my box? Yes — we ask for your due date or baby’s age, and may request preferences like feeding journey, sensitivities, or lifestyle needs.
Can I update my information later? Always — just log into your customer portal.
Are products pregnancy-safe? We intentionally source gentle, wellness-aligned products — however, every pregnancy is unique. Always review ingredients and consult your healthcare provider if unsure.
Do you provide medical advice? No. We nurture, empower, and support — but medical recommendations belong to licensed providers.
Do you offer refunds? Because subscription boxes are curated and shipped monthly, we currently do not offer refunds once a box has shipped.
What if something arrives damaged or missing? Email us within 7 days — we’ll make it right with a replacement or store credit.
Can I gift a box to a mama? Yes — gifting is available! Choose “Send as a Gift” at checkout.
Do you include gift notes? Absolutely — we love celebrating mamas. Add a note at checkout.

What personal information do you collect? Only what’s needed to fulfill orders and personalize your experience — such as name, email, address, and due date if voluntarily shared.

Yes — intentionally and thoughtfully. Our priority is caring for you, but some boxes may include gentle newborn essentials, bonding tools, milestone keepsakes, or memory-making items. As we grow, we’ll introduce baby-focused add-ons and themed boxes aligned with our mission.
Absolutely. Healing, support, and community extend beyond the birthing parent. We offer optional add-ons and curated care items for partners, supporters, and chosen family — because postpartum is a shared transition, and everyone deserves nurturing.
